Get To Know Robbye Jarrell & Her Signature Voice

Robbye holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education with an emphasis in voice; she has always shared a love for vocal pedagogy. Early in her career, Robbye taught general music in Atlanta, and quickly learned how to connect through communication,  as evidenced by her Teacher of the Year Award at her respective school. Robbye earned a Masters of Divinity degree and subsequently served as a Minister of Children in Raleigh, NC. She later served nine years as the board-certified Chaplain for the oncology unit at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Scottish Rite Campus); she completed her tenth year at Children’s as the Emergency Room Chaplain on the Egleston Campus. Children’s recognized Robbye with awards for “going beyond the call of duty” and “excellence in healthcare education.”

Robbye was exposed to senior issues in a deeper way when she returned to Atlanta to care for her aging mother.

In 2008, Robbye pivoted from pediatrics to geriatrics, by joining a retirement community in the heart of Atlanta as their first Chaplain, tasked with setting up the Spiritual Wellness programming. Today, this programming includes two full time Chaplains and a summer chaplain intern.

From 2010 to 2016, Robbye served on the Board of the Georgia Institute on Aging where she was recognized with the 2013 Allison Cuba Champion Award, and the 2015 Leading Age Georgia Award of Honor for outstanding contributions in the field of aging services.  Robbye is a Certified Senior Advisor; this credentialing applies to professionals who are able to demonstrate their competence and knowledge in working with older adults.

She has also served as Chaplain of the Day for the Georgia Senate and the Georgia House of Representatives.  In December, 2018 Robbye graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting as a multi-media specialist.
